NATHAN Clarke has admitted he needed to make a loan move in order to ease his frustration.
The Huddersfield centre-back, who was ineligible to play for Athletic against his parent club on Saturday, was frozen out at the Galpharm Stadium and is grateful for a chance to again prove his worth.
“It had been a frustrating time,” said Clarke, whose Terriers contract expires at the end of the season.
“I wasn’t featuring as much as I would have liked. It is tough when you go into the weekend with no game to look forward to.
“I am getting a chance to play football (with Athletic) and it not only happens to be local for me but it is also a good club as well.
“I understand the reason why I couldn’t play on Saturday.
“I admit it would have been a strange experience, though I was disappointed my run of games ended.”
As for his future plans, the 27-year-old is noncommittal.
“I am just concentrating on these next five months,” he added. “But in football things can happen in the click of a finger.”
