Liverpool businessman Phil Goldman is Athletic's new club president.
Goldman was previously involved in the game as an agent and has taken up the role following an invitation from chairman Simon Corney.
The 49-year-old will provide an advisory role. "It is a very exciting time for Athletic," said Goldman, who first watched the team as a result of his friendship with Jon Hallworth and Andy Ritchie.
"Paul Dickov is doing a fantastic job. He's got us playing some lovely football this season and we are only a couple of rounds away from Wembley in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.
"There is also the proposed redevelopment of our home here at Boundary Park, which we hope will open up all sorts of new business opportunities."
