big thanks: Robbie Simpson applauds Athletic fans at the end of Saturday’s home game.
TALKS will take place between Athletic and Huddersfield to try to prise back Robbie Simpson to Boundary Park early next year.
As per loan rules, the striker’s deal could not be extended beyond the weekend.
But manager Paul Dickov confirmed that when the transfer window re-opens at the start of next year, Athletic will make every effort to bring back the highly-influential player.
Simpson has scored four times for Athletic and jointly tops the assists chart in npower League One with seven.
“He is a great kid,” said Dickov. “We wish we could have him for these next three weeks.
“We have to show Huddersfield some respect as well. Robbie wants to stay and we want him to stay, but we have to speak to Huddersfield and we are hopeful of getting him back.
“He is a clever footballer. He has a great football brain and his attitude is a credit to him as well.”
