Friday show for Anfield clash

ATHLETIC have settled on a Friday night date for their FA Cup third-round tie at Anfield.

The game against Liverpool will kick off on Friday, January 6, at 8pm.

A Saturday fixture wasn’t possible due to city neighbours Everton already selecting a 3pm kick-off on that date for their home tie with Tamworth.

Liverpool face two away games at Manchester City either side of the clash with Athletic, in the Premier League on Tuesday, January 3, and then in the first leg of the Carling Cup semi-final on Wednesday, January 11. Ticket details have yet to be released.
