Furman firmly focused

ONE more win could secure Athletic’s npower League One tenure.
But if those crucial three points arrives sooner rather than later, don’t expect captain Dean Furman to put his feet up and focus on the summer break.
“No game is ever non-competitive, be it a friendly, a kick-about at the park with your mates or one to win the league,” said Furman.
“Every game should have the same impetus and importance.
“We will take every game as if it was the first of the season and aim to pick up as many points as we possibly can.”
Having made only 23 appearances this season due to injury, Furman admits the campaign has been one to forget from a personal perspective.
“It has been a bit of a nightmare season,” he said, commenting on a campaign in which two separate knee injuries have halted his progress.
