DEAN FURMAN: “huge match for both teams.”
DEAN Furman acknowledges the significance of Saturday’s basement tussle against Wycombe.
Win for the first time in six matches and Athletic's status as a member of npower League One is all but assured.
Lose at Adams Park, and the relegation buffer zone is immediately halved to only three points.
Athletic's captain, who has yet to pick up a point since his return at Notts County four fixtures ago, knows what needs to be done for everyone at Boundary Park to start breathing normally once more.
"It is huge for both teams," said Furman, whose team is currently 18th in the laegue.
“We need to keep believing we are doing the right things. It is just in those fine moments where quite simply it is not good enough. We let ourselves down.
“We have four massive, massive games left.
"We will stick together, make sure we get through it and stay in this league.”
Athletic round off the season with home matches against Preston and play-off chasing Carlisle on the last day, with an away visit to Bury sandwiched between them.
