CHRIS TAYLOR: wants to test himself at a higher level.
CHRIS Taylor has explained his reasons for wanting to leave Athletic.
Chairman Simon Corney exclusively revealed to the Chronicle two weeks ago that the winger had turned down advances on an improved contract, as he wanted to test himself in the Championship.
It means the 25 year old, out of contract this summer, is likely to depart Boundary Park on a free transfer — provided the ankle injury, which will take between six and 12 weeks to heal, doesn't hinder his ambition.
When Taylor waves goodbye there will be nothing but well-wishes heading his way from Corney.
"I have a lot of respect and time for Chris," the chairman said: "He's been a fantastic servant to the club and he deserves his opportunity if he can get it."
