Easter’s harsh double loss

WE suffered two defeats against quality opponents over the Easter period.

But I believe we were unlucky not to take something from Charlton and Sheffield Wednesday respectively.

Starting with the home loss to the Addicks, we were the better side for the majority of the match.

Unfortunately, their experience told against our inexperience in defence, and they left Boundary Park with a 1-0 win.

Chris Powell’s side were reduced to nine men and we were a player short after Jean-Yves Mvoto received his marching orders.

In my opinion, none of the three dismissals was justified.

I felt inexperience was againa the key factor in our 3-0 reverse at Sheffield Wednesday.

We performed well for long periods, but their second goal killed us. We showed a bit of naivety for their first and third efforts.

What our recent form has proved is that there are fine lines between winning and losing.

Plenty of possession has not been rewarded and we are getting punished at the other end.

We now have an important trip to Wycombe to navigate tomorrow.

They were on a good run before a surprise 4-0 defeat at Chesterfield and the Chairboys find themselves in the mire, so it is all to play for.

Wycombe have a good home record so we know it is going to be tough, but we have to go there and impose ourselves on the game.
