Kirk Millar: will play in final game
KIRK Millar will get another chance to shine in Athletic's final game of the season.
The Northern Irish winger (19), whose contract is set to expire at Boundary Park, made his first startat Bury last week and is now set to take his place in the team for the Carlisle game.
It remains to be seen whether the hard-working wide man from Belfast, an under-21s international, has a future at the club.
Despite making his debut at 17 under the stewardship of Dave Penney, the former Linfield prospect has made a total of only 14 first-team showings for the club in three seasons, including a trio of starts.
This season, the Northern Ireland under-21 international has been a stalwart in the reserves side, with no loan move to gain first-team football forthcoming.
But certainly in the case of his compatriot Carl Winchester, Connor Hughes and James Tarkowski — all contracted until the end of 2012-13 — Paul Dickov has earmarked a great role for the trio next term.
KIERAN Lee was again the star of the show at last night’s awards night at the Bower Hotel.
The consistent right-back claimed player-of-the-season honours from the supporters, Boundary Blues, Trust Oldham and his fellow players.
Robbie Simpson won goal of the season for his sizzling strike at Liverpool and was named Oldham Athletic Supporters’ Association player of the year, James Tarkowski picked up the young player gong and Dean Furman won an award from the Community Trust for his work over the year.
