Nathan Clarke: released by Huddersfield Town.
MILLWALL boss Kenny Jackett believes a change of scenery will help raise the game of Chris Taylor.
The 25-year-old Athletic winger, who was out of contract at Boundary Park, is set to tie up a 12-month switch to the Lions later this week, cutting his long association with his home club.
“He’s played a lot of games at League One level and is now looking to step up to the Championship,” said Jackett.
Athletic manager Paul Dickov now has only David Mellor in the left-back role. Dickov has targeted the position for strengthening over the summer and he will also now be on the look-out for a Taylor replacement.
Defensively, Nathan Clarke may be an option now that he has been released by newly-promoted Huddersfield.
The centre-back (28) played 20 games on loan last season, scoring on his debut against Rochdale, before moving to Bury.
KEANU Marsh-Brown has joined Athletic’s npower League One rivals Yeovil.
The 19-year-old winger, released at Boundary Park after a patchy spell, has signed a season-long deal.
TOM Mellor, brother of Athletic’s David, helped Harrisburg City Islanders to an extraordinary shoot-out win over MLS side New England Revolution in the US Open Cup.
Trailing 3-0 in the first period of extra time, three late goals were followed by a victory on penalties which sees Harrisburg advance to face Thierry Henry’s New York Red Bulls in the fourth round in a week’s time.
