ZANDER DIAMOND: Oldham to Burton
FORMER Athletic centre-half Zander Diamond has joined npower League Two Burton Albion on a free transfer following his release from Boundary Park.
The 27-year-old defender, pictured playing against Burton in last season’s FA Cup, played 23 times in League One for Athletic and was offered a fresh deal for 2012-13 but on less money. The Scot, whose last appearance for Athletic was against Stevenage in March, turned it down.
He was expected to return to Scotland, but instead finds himself in Staffordshire.
