TV bonus for Latics

LIVE Monday night football from Boundary Park will hit our TV screens in August.
Sky Sports will televise Athletic’s Capital One Cup first-round tie against Sheffield Wednesday, resulting in a welcome windfall, believed to be in the region of £75,000, for the cash-strapped club.
The match is on August 13. The new npower League One season gets under way five days later on Saturday, August 18.
Athletic chief executive Neil Joy said: “It’s fantastic news for the club and an early-season bonus.
“Looking at the draw, there were a number of interesting ties, so it came as a bit of a surprise when we got the call.”
Athletic will turn their attention to finalising their pre-season schedule now the Capital One Cup draw has been made.
So far only tWo friendlies have been confirmed — the trip to neighbours Mossley on Wednesday, July 11 and the home clash with Huddersfield on Saturday, August 4.
Athletic are keen to arrange two more home fixtures — one of which will ideally be against a Barclays Premier League club — and a couple of away games.
