MIDFIELDER Youssouf Mchangama is expected to a sign a deal this week to stay at Boundary Park.
ATHLETIC are expecting to strengthen central midfield by snapping up Youssouf Mchangama, manager Paul Dickov has revealed.
The 21-year-old Marseille-born player impressed last season on non-contract terms.
He spent the last week training with the squad and a contract should be concluded today.
A new striker remains the priority.
“Youssouf signing takes us up to 18,” said Dickov, who expects Mchangama to return in time from a break in France to play at Mossley tomorrow (7pm kick-off).
“We are trying to bring people in but whether that happens before we go to Portugal or not, I don’t know.”
One of Mchangama’s most potent attributes is his fierce shot - as witnessed in the home game against Bournemouth, when he rattled the Chaddy End crossbar with a 35-yard drive.
