JAMES Wesolowski believes he will be back in action sooner than anticipated to give Athletic a much-needed shot in the arm.
The combative midfielder pulled his hamstring in training on the eve of the first match of the season, and it was feared he could miss up to eight games.
But the determined Aussie - whose absence was keenly felt in the 1-0 home loss to Stevenage - has hopes of a speedy recovery.
He said: “I am already feeling quite a lot better so I am confident of getting back soon.
“I will keep up my stamina by doing plenty of work in the gym. That will help to maintain my base fitness.”
Manager Paul Dickov has admitted his side misses Wesolowski more than anyone.
