FOUR goals short of where he believes he should be at the moment, Athletic forward Robbie Simpson is ready to turn his season around.
The 27 year old was dropped for the first time by manager Paul Dickov against Scunthorpe this week.
Simpson scored nine times for Athletic last season, including a stunning effort against Liverpool at Anfield, but has yet to find the target this time.
The forward hopes his promising show in the Scunthorpe draw heralds a return to form.
“I spoke to the manager before the game,” Simpson said. “He gave me his reasoning and I understood it.
“If I am totally honest, I have not been at full fitness.
“But I felt sharp against Scunthorpe and hope to carry that on.”
