JOSE BAXTER . . . replaced James Wesolowski at Brentford.
JOSE Baxter can be as effective as an advanced midfielder as he is up front, according to his manager.
The ex-Everton striker has yet to start for Athletic and after scoring and having another disallowed in the home draw with Notts County on his debut
The 20-year-old has since been employed as a more attack-minded replacement for James Wesolowski in the past two fixtures.
“When you are chasing the game you don’t want to take off one of your forwards,” said Paul Dickov, explaining the thinking behind Baxter’s role in the Brentford game.
“We wanted to get Jose and Matt Smith on there and even shove Jean up at the end.
“The one thing Jose will do when he gets it is look for little openings to cause teams problems.”
