ATHLETIC manager Paul Dickov is under no illusions that he needs points, quickly.

“I have been under pressure since the first day I took the job,” he said, following the latest dispiriting home defeat to previously-winless Coventry. “I am not stupid. I know that we need to start getting results. But I know we will.”

Cody McDonald got the visitors' goal in the 89th minute to hand Dickov's side a second home npower League One defeat of the season, sinking the club back into the bottom-four.

“We have got to pick them up," said the manager. “We have got some good players in there.

“At times we are playing good football, but you can't switch off defensively.

“We all have to pick ourselves up and go to Crewe with a positive attitude to pick up three points, because that is what we all want.”

Trust Oldham chairman Barry Owen said: “Everybody is very disappointed with the results at the moment and we are not playing as well as we should be,” Owen said. “Equally, we have had a lot of bad luck.

“I am sure that things will start to pick up and it is important that we stay calm.

“It is still very early in the season and I am sure we will pull it round.”
