‘Professional’ attitude so satisfying for Dickov

WING KING . . . Lee Croft shows his pace on the flank for Latics.
THE FLUIDITY of recent weeks was lacking at times against opponents who were determined to dig in at Boundary Park.
And it is precisely because not everything went according to plan that Athletic manager Paul Dickov branded this as the most satisfying victory of the recent revival.
“For me this was a better result and performance. I have had people all week telling me how easy it was going to be.
“But the attitude and professionalism they showed to keep going and get the three points was fantastic.
“I knew it was going to be tough. They had a good result in midweek (beating Hartlepool 1-0) and Russell Slade’s teams always come to play football.
“It is really pleasing, as it is a game we might have lost a few weeks ago.”
