Premier test in round one
Date published: 22 October 2012
KIDDERMINSTER Harriers will host Athletic in the first round of this season’s FA Cup.
The Blue Square Bet Premier side, currently 20th in the division, were the first team to be drawn from the pot by Athletic legend Earl Barrett during yesterday’s televised draw.
The game at Aggborough will be played the weekend of November 3.
Harriers boss Steve Burr reckons the draw is a good one for his club.
“You have to say it’s a good tie,” he said. “It’s great to be facing a League One side and a club of Oldham’s size.
“They’ll feel they’re on a hiding to nothing and that people will be expecting them to win.”
Athletic last faced non-league opponents in the FA Cup six years ago
