Athletic’s inflatable pitch dome is finally up and running to make sure Sunday’s FA Cup, fourth-round tie against Liverpool will go ahead despite the weather.
The equipment — supplied by the Football Association — blows hot air into the tent is made available to clubs in televised clashes whose pitch might othewise be in doubt due to the weather.
Athletic’s game — with a capacity crowd at Boundary Park — will be shown live on ITV1 on Sunday (4pm kick-off).
