Snow stops play
Date published: 06 February 2013
A heavy snowfall forced Athletic to postpone its game against Yeovil last night.
An original pitch inspection at 1pm - after volunteers had cleared snow from the covers - saw the surface passed fit.
But only two hours later the hard work was undone as the pitch quickly became covered again.
A second inspection at 3pm left the club with no option but to call off the fixture.
Supporters who bought tickets for last night’s game can still use it for priority purchase of Everton FA Cup tickets.
Fans attending Saturday’s home match against MK Dons will also now pick up a voucher offering priority booking for the february 16 game.
The voucher doesn’t guarantee a ticket, but gives holders greater priority for tickets when the window for season ticket holders has closed. Season ticket holder sales started today, until 1pm on Saturday.
Voucher holders from the Yeovil and MK Dons games can buy, subject to availability, between 10am-2pm on Sunday and 9am-5pm on Monday. Remaining tickets go on open sale at 9am on Tuesday.
