Cisak aims to make up for lost time

ATHLETIC goalkeeper Alex Cisak has endured a frustrating season.
The Krakow-born, Australia-raised stopper had a great last campaign after joining Oldham from Accrington Stanley in July, 2011.
He was the club’s first choice, making 47 appearances in total before missing the final eight games through injury.
But this year has been a different story for the Aussie under-20 international.
In and out of the side as Dean Bouzanis has largely gained the nod, Cisak did at least start last weekend’s npower League One game against Sheffield United after Bouzanis was ruled out for ‘an internal matter’.
Predictably, Cisak now wants a larger piece of the action.
He said: “On Saturday it felt like I hadn’t played in a long while. I played at Stevenage last month, but before that it was around Christmas when I was last in.
“I really need a run of games to get that match sharpness back. I’ve been working hard in training, so it has been a very frustrating season for me so far.
“Obviously last season I played the majority of the games so it’s been hard not to be in there this season.
“It can be a bit of a downer at times, but I just have to keep working hard to get back in the team.
“It has been too long, but there’s nothing I can do about that except to keep my head down and keep putting in the work.”
Cisak’s Athletic contract is up this summer, though there is an option for another year, but he seems genuinely unsure as to what his future holds.
“I’ve no idea what’s going to happen at the end of the season,” said the 23-year-old. “I can’t see the club keeping both me and Dean next time.
“If the club wants me to stay I’ll do that and keep working as hard as ever.”
