TOP scorer Jose Baxter was the biggest winner at Athletic’s awards dinner last night, taking home three gongs.

Baxter (21), who has scored 15 times following his arrival in September, was named by his Boundary Park colleagues as the players’ player of the season, and also collected the equivalent honour from the Boundary Blues.

Baxter's brilliant curling shot from the edge of the area against Leyton Orient was picked out as Athletic’s best goal of the season at the end of season dinner.

Jean-Yves Mvoto was picked by both the Oldham Athletic Community Trust and Trust Oldham as their player of the season, and Lee Croft was honoured as the supporters’ player of the season — following a tight race with Mvoto and Baxter. James Tarkowski was named the players’ young player of the season.

Tony Philliskirk, the club’s head of youth and temporary manager and assistant manager after Paul Dickov’s mid-season departure, was named Athletic's employee of the season.

Outstanding contribution awards went to Wendy Noble and Martin Vose of the Oldham Athletic Community Trust.
