JAMES WESOLOWSKI: set to give Athletic a pre-season tonic.
AUSSIE midfielder James Wesolowski will be available for pre-season training when Athletic players return from the summer break in July.
Wesolowski (25) underwent a second shoulder operation three weeks ago and is now recovering well.
Delighted Athletic manager Lee Johnson said: “James felt he needed more surgery on his shoulder and he was right.
“He had an operation just over a year ago, but the joint needed clearing out again.
“He had been managing with a brace, but it was definitely affecting himso he opted to go in hospital even though he knew he’d miss the last five games of the season.
“The operation was a success and he’s well into a 12-week recovery period.
“We’ve missed James and it will give us all a boost to see him back fit again well before the start of next season.”
Johnson remains busy trying to bolster his squad with new signings.
On Wednesday he revealed he was “80-per-cent there” in his pursuit of two new faces.
“Slowly but surely we’re getting there,” said Johnson. “We’re getting further down the road with both players.”
