ATHLETIC are close to completing a deal to sign young striker Jonson Clarke-Harris from Peterborough United, the Chronicle understands.
The 18-year-old forward played against Lee Johnson's side while on loan at Bury at the back end of last season.
He was the Shakers' best player in that game which Athletic won 1-0 courtesy of Matt Smith's header.
Clarke-Harris has not made a first-team start for Peterborough, who were relegated from the Championship on the final day of last term.
However, he impressed at in his stint at Bury and clearly has plenty of potential. He also spent a month on loan at League Two outfit Southend.
Apparently, he has another 12 months left on his contract at Peterborough, but it is believed he would only command a nominal fee, if one at all.
