ATHLETIC manager Lee Johnson admits he is braced for offers for his top performers.
The job of building his squad is more or less complete, with only a centre-back still on the wanted list.
But the Boundary Park boss believes it is inevitable that the more talented players at his disposal will attract the attentions of rivals.
But as yet there have been no bids - and the transfer window shuts on September 2.
“The thing is that while it’s exciting, it’s also a little worrying because we’ve got some real sellable commodities in our group,” Johnson said.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if someone did come in for one of our players. Nothing is surprising in football, but there hasn’t been an awful lot of movement this summer and we have got some decent players who people from higher divisions tried to take.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if we get an offer or two, but If that proves the case obviously we’ll need to adjust, depending on whether we would feel like selling or not.”
