ATHLETIC boss Lee Johnson is playing it safe with striker Charlie MacDonald.
Despite a minor injury against Walsall, the experienced player came on as a substitute to score at Peterborough seven days later.
But the injury has still to settle: “It is a funny one with Charlie,” Johnson said.
“If we had been playing in a cup final last week, he could probably have played. But we need to be careful.
“He has a dead leg but there is fluid around it, which is wrapped around a nerve. It was a joint call between me and Charlie that he sat it out against Port Vale.”
