Millers boss escapes FA charge

STEVE Evans has escaped an FA charge over his behaviour towards the end of Athletic’s game at Rotherham, the Chronicle can reveal.
The Millers manager was accused by Athletic supporters of making provocative gestures aimed at the section of the New York Stadium holding visiting fans, after his side had scored an injury-time winning goal.
Evans then became embroiled in a post-match row with Athletic’s technical staff.
Even though the evidence was insufficient to launch formal disciplinary proceedings against Evans, the FA has confirmed he has been warned by letter about his conduct.
The Millers boss, who yesterday completed a loan swoop for Bolton’s ex-Athletic striker Tom Eaves, claimed afterwards that he was “goaded” by Athletic staff.
