We’re getting the best out of each other - Weso

COMMITTED TO THE CAUSE: James Wesolowski shows the kind of determination which has seen an upturn in fortunes.
CONFIDENCE levels are rocketing within Athletic’s ranks, says James Wesolowski, who proved the point with a rare crackerjack strike at his Deepdale home from home.
Without a goal for the whole of the 2012-13 season, the midfield dynamo hammered in the second in the 2-0 victory at Preston — the scene of his two-goal salvo in a 3-3 draw two years ago.
Wesolowski has only scored once in the time between, in an FA Cup draw at Southend in December, 2011.
As the star performer in recent outings, the Sydney-born player hasn’t been shy in getting into scoring positions. And now he has made it count, he hopes Athletic can do the same on Saturday week with the visit of Carlisle to Boundary Park.
“Everyone is playing with a lot of confidence at the moment and it probably was the opposite case a few weeks ago,” he said.
“We all got behind each other when things weren’t going so well. We are getting the best out of each other now. If we continue, I am sure we will be fine for the rest of the season.
“We have a big few games coming up after the international break and we know we need to sort out our league form.”
Wesolowski, whose first start in this campaign only came in the fourth game, believes his central midfield role with Korey Smith is blossoming.
“As time goes on, we understand each other’s games more — when we are going forward, when to stay back,” he said. “It is starting to click nicely.”
