AS the video of him hitting the turf at Wolves continues to get many repeats on the internet, Athletic
manager Lee Johnson is keen for his men to get back to their own feet quickly for the game against Swindon on Saturday.
Johnson’s tumble - brought about by a collision with home winger James Henry - is proving to be a big comedy hit on YouTube. But the serious business of correcting what went wrong in Tuesday night’s 2-0 defeat at Molineux is underway.
Johnson wants all his team to put in top performances — rather than just the handful who pleased him in his rejigged formation at Wolves.
“We have to go again this weekend,” said Johnson. “The lads are disappointed, but five or six of them were magnificent. If they can take that form into the game on Saturday, it is up to the others to keep up with them.”
Changes are likely to be made to the line-up for the visit of the eighth-placed Robins. Adam Rooney and Kirk Millar are pushing for inclusion as the team hunts goals. Athletic have scored only twice in the last four league games.
“Wolves was a disappointment, but we have to be realistic and move on.”
