MIDFIELDER James Wesolowski shows off the facial injury which will keep him out of action for a month.
JAMES Wesolowski is facing at least four weeks out of the game, after it was confirmed that he suffered a fractured cheekbone at Mansfield.
Athletic’s pivotal midfield man took a hefty whack to the face early on in the FA Cup second-round replay at Field Mill in an aerial challenge by Jamie McGuire.
Co-commentator Neil Warnock and former referee Mark Halsey were among neutrals who felt that McGuire — who was not even booked by referee Seb Stockbridge — was lucky not to be sent off.
After a night spent in Nottingham’s Queens Medical Centre, an x-ray
confirmed the worst and though Wesolowski will not require surgery, he will have to sit it out on the sidelines for a month at least — including Athletic’s prized FA Cup third-round tie at Liverpool.
