Colchester need a U-turn

COLCHESTER United head to Boundary Park tomorrow on the back of some poor away form, which has seen the club without an away win since the season’s opening day.
Since then, fortunes have faded as the Essex club has fallen to its current standing of 18th in the table.
Even a two-week rest from action couldn’t help engender a recovery, as the Us fell to a spirit-crushing 4-0 home loss to Notts County — themselves previously bottom of the division.
Former West Ham prospect Freddie Sears is the club’s leading scorer with four goals, one ahead of target man Jabo Ibehre - but the former hasn’t featured since November due to a hamstring injury.
Current Hammers winger Blair Turgott, who played a part in Bradford’s run to the Capital One Cup final last season, has arrived on loan and intends to replicate Sears’ success.
The omens for Dunne's men aren't great, though. Only once in the last 11 meetings at Athletic's home have they taken three points, in the 2008-09 season when Clive Platt's second-minute strike earned a 1-0 victory.
