ATHLETIC fans travelling to Port Vale tomorrow are likely to catch a first glimpse of recently-acquired winger David Worrall.
The 23-year-old wide-man — on loan from Rotherham since January 3 — has recently recovered from groin surgery, so has been carefully managed since his arrival. But Vale Park could be where he finally makes his Athletic bow.
Manager Lee Johnson said: “We’re hopeful for David. He trained yesterday and will be in the squad, so possibly he’ll start on the bench.
“We’ve been keeping the reins on him a little bit since he’s been here, but he is getting better and better in training. “I want him to be 100 per cent before we throw him into action, rather than having him for 14 or 15 games games at 70-per-cent.
“I see him as a very important player for us during these final few months of the season.”
