Injuries concern for Johnson

Athletic boss Lee Johnson has hinted that Swiss defender Genseric Kusunga’s chances of extending his Athletic stay could be reduced by niggling injuries.
Kusunga — the late match-winner against Peterborough last weekend — limped out of Tuesday’s defeat against Wolves and is rated at “70/30 against” to be fit for tomorrow’s trip to Swindon.
It’s a situation clearly concerning the manager: “Kusunga’s got this phantom hamstring injury that keeps coming back.
“It’s a little bit annoying, to be honest, because he’s a good player — we just can’t seem to get him through three games in a week.
“You look at a finely-tuned athlete like him, then look at a stumpy little rotweiller like James Wesolowski.
“You just have to deal with contact injuries; that’s part of football, but little pulls and strains can stop people playing two or three games a week.”
Kusunga — sihned in August after leaving Swiss outfit Servette — signed a contract until the end of this season, with a further year’s option. He has made 24 appearances this season and scored twice
