Fair point but not a bad point — Johnson

Athletic boss Lee Johnson gets his point across.
ATHLETIC lacked movement and threat in the final third of the game, manager Lee Johnson admitted. But he wasn’t too unhappy to walk away with a point against former club Bristol City.
In a game played in awful conditions, with a heavy wind playing havoc with the ball, Danny Philliskirk’s rasping drive from 25 yards was cancelled out by Aden Flint’s poke home.
While enjoying plenty of play after that, Athletic looked solid defensively but couldn’t crack the Robins’ defence for a second time.
“It was a fair point and not a bad point for us,” said Johnson, after a second draw gained against his former club this term.
“Bristol City have got themselves sorted now with a back four that looks more solid and stronger.
“Second half, we huffed and puffed and dominated territorially and in terms of possession. But actual goal scoring opportunities were at a premium.
“I am not too disappointed, because it was a really difficult game with the conditions and the swirling wind.
“It dampened the game and the spirits of everyone around the ground were low. We couldn’t get the crowd going and they couldn’t get us going. I tried to rally the troops at times and we had a few corners, but never really looked as threatening as we have.”
