JAMES Wesolowski had to come off after hurting his knee against Bristol City last Saturday.
Midfield man ‘50-50’ for away clash
ATHLETIC are hopeful James Wesolowski will be fit to play at MK Dons on Saturday.
The midfield mainstay hurt his knee during the 1-1 draw with Bristol City and was forced out for the second half.
He has since had a scan — Athletic are awaiting the results — and if the damage isn’t too great, he will be fit to play.
“He is probably a 50-50 chance,” manager Lee Johnson said today. “He had a scan last night and the surgeon is looking at it. It is a medial strain and if no fibres are torn, it is likely it will settle down.”
Athletic currently have no other injury concerns ahead of the game at Stadium MK.
Johnson is happy to have a striker in Danny Philliskirk who enters that game full of confidence, following his early long-range strike against the Robins.
“It was good to have a striker score as that has not happened in a while,” Johnson added.
