Harkins is a rising star

JAMES Wesolowski’s consistent form across the season sees him lead the way in the Chronicle ‘Star Man’ stakes.
The combative midfield man has to date won eight man of the match awards in 2013-14, his best campaign in Athletic colours to date.
But Wesolowski can’t rest on his laurels as the race to be the successor to last year’s joint winners Lee Croft and Jean-Yves Mvoto hots up.
One man coming up on the rails is Gary Harkins. Despite arriving on loan only in January, the Scot has amassed four nominations already and could yet pip Sydney’s finest for top spot.
The winner of this season’s Star Man award will pick up a cheque for £600, courtesy of sponsors Indish Bar, Restaurant and Grill, to be donated to a charity of his choice.
