SOUR NOTE: James Tarkowski (far right) was sent off at Leyton Orient.
JAMES Tarkowski could be back in Brentford’s starting line-up against his former club on Saturday.
The defender, who left Athletic to join the promotion-hunting Bees in the last transfer window for an undisclosed fee, was a frustrated spectator as an unused substitute when Mark Warburton’s men were easily picked off 3-0 at Rotherham on Tuesday night. It was only Brentford’s second league defeat since October.
Tarkowski sat out the game coming back from a one-match suspension. But the man Athletic boss Lee Johnson sought to fetch back on loan following his transfer may be recalled by Warburton to stiffen up the back line this weekend.
There is also likely to be a change in midfield, with borrowed Chelsea schemer George Saville fit after injury.
After a 3-0 home defeat to leaders Wolves last month, Brentford went on to claim 13 points from a possible 15. Clayton Donaldson has scored 17 goals in 39 appearances, with Marcello Trotta – the penalty-missing villain of last season’s final day – next on the list with 13.
Supplying the bullets in midfield is Adam Forshaw, the former Everton youngster recently voted the League One player of the year.
