Johnsons lock horns again

FATHER and son are ready to go head-to-head when it comes to signings this summer, Lee Johnson has admitted.

The 2014-15 campaign will be notable for pitting Gary Johnson (58) — manager of newly-relegated Yeovil — against his son, still the youngest boss in the Football League.

The pair famously met last season, when Athletic won 1-0 at Boundary Park.

Johnson Jr reckons though the Glovers will have more money than Athletic next season, geography could play in his favour.

“A player would probably take a couple of hundred quid a week less to live in this area than to move to Yeovil, depending on whether they are northern or southern-based,” he said.

“It helps us a bit. But then, dad is a good manager and a player might go there thinking they will get promoted again.

“There are a lot we are competing with. And with the players I want, we will be competing against top budgets.”
