Philliskirk signs contract extension

LATE NEWS: DANNY Philliskirk has signed a new two-year contract extension with Athletic, including the option of a further year.
The club’s top scorer in league and cup this term with 12 goals, the son of academy supremo Tony has found his feet on his return to Boundary Park.
After leaving Athletic as a teenager for Chelsea, the technically-gifted forward went on to join Sheffield United and Coventry but without making a real mark on the first team at either club.
Having been snapped up on an initial two-year deal back in August after impressing on trial, the 23-year-old will now remain at the club until at least the summer of 2016.
“He’s done really well and I’ve been pleased with him this season,” said manager Lee Johnson.
“We are still speaking to several players at the moment and we have got lots of decisions still to make.”
