No resting on our laurels

THREE straight wins means it’s been a good week at the club, and we’ve put in some good work on the training ground.
We needed to do that because it’s about building on these positive results and taking things forward.
The lads were asked to tweak things slightly and we are pleased it has transferred to points so quickly.
These wins have helped us and the confidence was there for everyone to see against Fleetwood.
We have to try to keep this positive cycle turning now and continue to impress people, though that did lead to a problem last Saturday: there was a last-minute scramble for tickets because so many scouts wanted to come down and watch us!
It’s still early in the season, of course, but we have got a lot about us as a squad, despite not having the biggest budget.
We were fantastic against Fleetwood. I had a couple of saves to make in the first half, but didn’t have a lot to do after the break. The whole 11 were very solid and overall, good game management saw us through to the win. The manager has worked hard on a few tactics and they are clearly paying off – three straight clean sheets is testament to that.
Now we look ahead to tomorrow and Gillingham, and there is some pressure on us to keep this little run going.
If we just keep doing what we’ve been doing well this last couple of weeks, we ought to get another good result.
