ATHLETIC full-back Connor Brown needed to go out on loan to get more games, says manager Lee Johnson.
Having slipped behind Brian Wilson and Genseric Kusunga in the pecking order, right-back Brown (23) this week left to join league two Carlisle for a month.
“It has been a frustrating time for Connor,” said Johnson. “We have moved up a notch in terms of the quality of players we have brought in.
“He has been knocking on the door and to get a month of games under his belt and then reassess is good for both of us.”
Brown is looking forward to getting back into action: “I had been asking to get some games. I’m not happy to sit on the bench,” he said.
“As soon as the manager said I could go, I came straight up to Carlisle.”
