Time running out for Crawley boss
Date published: 13 November 2014
WITH discontent rising among the Crawley faithful, manager John Gregory faces arguably the biggest test of his reign this weekend.
One win in the last seven outings, plus exits from two cup competitions in four days, have led to some fans to call on the 60 year old to resign.
Gregory, a veteran of 25 years’ standing as a manager at Portsmouth, Wycombe, Aston Villa and QPR among others, knows only quick results can significantly ease pressure on him.
“All you can do is work hard and try to improve results. We go to Oldham on Saturday and then have two home games so there is a possible nine points there which can change our season.
Crawley hasn’t won away in the league since beating Barnsley 1-0 on the opening day of the season.
The home record remains respectable, but only five points have arrived since September, leading to a slump to the Red Devils’ current station of 15th in the table.
