ATHLETIC have defended their ticket pricing policy for the FA Cup second-round tie against Doncaster on Saturday.
Adult fans will have to pay £20 — higher than any other League One club playing at home in the competition this weekend.
Scunthorpe and Barnsley are charging supporters only £10 to see games featuring non-league sides, while MK Dons’ play rivals Chesterfield and fans will pay only £12.
Athletic says prices are still good value: “We tried reducing the price for the Leyton Orient game in round one and it had little effect,” said club chief executive Neil Joy.
“The price is still a reduced one and for under-16s and over-65s it is £10, or £5 for accompanied under-12s. Even at £20 for adults, we feel it represents good value for a high-profile and much-anticipated game.
“We are playing good, attractive football and we would encourage as many fans as possible to come down and watch us try to make it into round three.”
