CHESTER 0-1 ATHLETIC
RHYS Turner's goal won the day for Athletic manager Darren Kelly in his first pre-season game in charge.
Slotting home in the 73rd minute after linking with Rhys Murphy, the 19-year-old showed good strength to hold off his man before finishing neatly.
With four trialists on show - Gavin Gunning, ex-Sunderland defender Tom McNamee, former Chester youngster Liam Blake and Slovenian winger Alen Ploj - Kelly was left with plenty to ponder ahead of the week-long trip to Stirling.
