Joel’s chance to stake keeper claim
Date published: 28 July 2015
Joel Coleman is set to start in goal tonight - and boss Darren Kelly sees a straight fight for a place between the teenager and equally-matched recent signing from Swansea, David Cornell.
“Both goalkeepers have done well and have been excellent in training,” Kelly said. “We are still identifying who will be the number one come Walsall. It would have been easy to bring in a young goalkeeper from a Premier League club, someone happy to get experience sitting on our bench.
“I didn’t want to do that and we are happy to see Joel and David go head to head.”
