UNDER PRESSURE . . . Athletic’s Dylan King forces Luton Town goalkeeper Liam Gooch to fumble the ball.
A GOAL worthy of winning any game did for Athletic’s under-18s last night as Luton Town progressed 1-0 in the FA Youth Cup fourth-round tie at SportsDirect.com Park.
Cameron McJannet’s initial free-kick shortly before half-time struck the defensive wall, but as the ball rebounded towards him he lashed in a superb volley keeper Chris Renshaw stood little chance of stopping. Renshaw had to be content with saving a penalty in the second half, at least keeping his side in the hunt
Luton, who have lost only one of their 19 league games this season, are now away to Preston in the last 16 of the competition.
