POSITIVE OUTLOOK . . . Athletic manager John Sheridan says the Wigan match is the sort of fixture his team should relish.
ATHLETIC manager John Sheridan is not at all daunted by the trip to in-form Wigan on Saturday, despite a lack of match action which has left his side with a 17-day run without a game.
Sheridan was left frustrated by the postponement of the game with Blackpool at the weekend, but even with a long period of inaction, he believes his side can pick up a positive result against a side unbeaten in nine games.
“I watched Wigan last week and it is clear that they have got a really strong squad, not just team, for this league,” Sheridan said. “They played really well against Port Vale (in a 3-0 win). But these are the sorts of games that I want us to play in.
“I know some people won’t give us a chance, but I definitely believe that we can go there and get
something from the game.”
