Liam Kelly
LIAM Kelly holds the lead as the race to become the Chronicle’s Star Man for the season draws to its conclusion.
The captain put in an inspirational man-of-the-match stint in the recent victory over Swindon, pushing him clear of midfield rivals Mike Jones and Matt Palmer.
With Palmer now back with Burton and last season’s star man Jones struggling with injury, the going looks clear for Kelly. The other nearest challengers Lee Croft and Cameron Dummigan are each two nominations behind.
Kelly (26) has been a mainstay of the season under three managers and a rarity in terms of performing consistently throughout. He would have more than his 39 appearances for the season — only James Wilson (44) has played more in 2015-16 — but for a knee injury.
