THE latest Failsworth Carnival Committee meeting takes place tonight at Failsworth School, Brierley Avenue, at 7.15pm. This year’s carnival takes place on July 16 and 17.





GREEN-FINGERED residents can enjoy a Limeside in Bloom Day tomorrow at the Avenues Community Hall, First Avenue, 1 to 3pm. Adults can fill hanging baskets with compost and plants, children can plant sunflower seeds and enter the tallest sunflower competition.



A TALK entitled ‘A Continuing History of the Plainsmen Indian of North America’ by Kingsley Bray takes pace on Thursday at the Failsworth Historical Society, Broadbent Luncheon Club, Lord Lane, from 7pm. All welcome.



UNDER-EIGHTS can explore sound and experiment with rhymes to make their own tune at Daisy Nook Country Park on Friday from 1 to 3pm. Run by Oldham Play Action Group, children must be accompanied by an adult.



HUNGRY teens can attend Free Food Friday at Limehurst Integrated Youth Centre, Farm Road, where they can cook and taste different foods from 5 to 8pm.



UNDER-FIVES can enjoy soft play and bouncy castle fun at the Twinkle Gym on Monday at Failsworth Sports Centre, Brierley Avenue, from 1.30 to 3pm. Admission £2.



RAISE community concerns at the next Failsworth and Hollinwood Neighbourhood Policing Team meeting on Thursday, June 9 at Broadbent Lane Social Club, 7.30 to 8.30pm.



GIVE blood on Friday, June 10, at Holy Family Church, Lord Lane, Failsworth. Two sessions take place from 1.15 to 3.30pm and from 5.15 to 7.30pm.
